We are a husband and wife run business that provides a variety graphic design services, as well as our shop that sells art and prints (currently). The shop will be expanding later this year to include some woodworking creations. Lathe & Quill started as a dream of living and creating together in September 2016. Tyler and I were both working full-time jobs and Lathe & Quill was our side hustle when we are not working or caring for our son. In May 2017 I made the plunge to invest full-time in LQ. I am excited to do more design and custom illustration.
Meghan Hageman (Quill)—everything starts with a sketch. Whether it is custom graphic design created or one of my polymer clay charms—everything started with a drawing on paper. I received my visual communication degree from the University of Kansas and have spent the last 6.5 years working for an advertising agency in Wichita, KS. I wanted to branch out to freelancing and being a maker. Are you a company in need of logo or business stationary? Or are you looking into materials for advertising? Or a Bride wanting to create original invite and wedding stationary for your special day? I can help with that. I have been launching my original prints at Society6, Redbubble, Threadless, and Design by Humans.
Tyler Hageman (Lathe)—woodworking is my passion. I am constantly refining my techniques and creating handmade pieces from natural woods. My first project was a side table for Meghan in her dorm room when we were dating. Since then, I have made custom cabinets for our home and most recently a miniature wooden fishing pole for our son’s newborn photo. I use a variety of stains types and colors as well as natural options, such as olive oil. I spend the time sourcing my species of wood–maples, oak, birch, and more–to create the best quality product that I can. We want our one-of-a-kind pieces to be something that last and you will keep for years as a memorable item for you or your family.
Thanks for visiting and we look forward to working with you!
