Growing New Skills

I firmly believe that it is important to keep learning and furthering your skills and knowledge to grow as a business and as an individual. I love using skillshare for that because they have quality videos and instructors that you can follow at your own pace with projects that go along with each class so you can practice your skills. I recently watched a class from Peggy Dean on creating patterns in procreate.

It was interesting creating this little pattern of berries and blossoms entirely on my ipad--typically I would maybe illustrate my elements in procreate or adobe illustrator and then make the pattern in illustrator or photoshop on my desktop. It was nice to not need so many programs, but it more challenging for me to create the fluid repeat. I imagine it gets easier with time. I really love the texture I can get from procreate.

Just for fun I added this new strawberry pattern to my print-on-demand shops: Society6, Redbubble, and Casetify.
